Overview

Nestled along Viale dei Bastioni di Michelangelo in the heart of Rome, Vinsanto Vino & Cucina invites diners to experience an authentic Italian meal with a modern touch. This charming restaurant, known for its warm atmosphere and attentive service, perfectly complements its vibrant outdoor setting near the Vatican area, making it an ideal stop for visitors and locals alike.

The menu showcases Italian classics crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Signature dishes like Linguine Allo Scoglio and Risotto Alla Pescatora highlight the restaurant’s expertise in seafood, delivering balanced flavors that reflect the Mediterranean’s bounty. Fans of pasta will find the Pesto Spaghetti particularly memorable—creamy, herbaceous, and light—earning praise from both vegetarians and connoisseurs. The Lasagna Con Ragu E Mozzarella Di Bufala is noteworthy for its rich layering of béchamel and tangy tomato sauce, satisfying and generously portioned.

Beyond pasta, the pizzeria offerings like Quattro Formaggi and Diavola provide a satisfying variety. These pizzas stand out with their fresh ingredients and delicate crusts, although they serve more as a complement rather than the main feature. The fresh salads, such as the crisp Insalata Mozzarella and Caesar salad topped with freshly grated Parmesan, add a refreshing contrast to the richer mains.

For dessert, Vinsanto’s Tiramisu and Cannoli are a celebration of classic Italian sweetness—creamy, well-balanced, and perfect for rounding off a meal. The pairing of these desserts with a glass of Limoncello or a refreshing Aperol Spritz reflects the venue’s dedication to an all-encompassing dining experience focused on traditional flavors with a delightful contemporary twist.

Visitors frequently commend the attentive and friendly staff, from hosts welcoming families to servers who bring both professionalism and warmth to the table. The atmosphere maintains a welcoming vibe, accommodating families, couples, and tourists craving an authentic Roman dining experience that is both relaxed and refined.

Whether you are stopping by after a day exploring the Vatican or seeking a cozy spot to savor Italian classics, Vinsanto Vino & Cucina stands out for its balanced menu and genuine hospitality. The pasta was perfect. Will come again when we visit this part of Rome again. And the anti pasta was a great way to start. The desert was the topper on our lunch. And a special thank you to Angel, you are the best.

Me and my wife are both vegetarian! The pesto spaghetti and bruschetta were absolutely brilliant! They complemented each other perfectly. To end the meal, we indulged in a rich and creamy tiramisu, which was simply divine. Overall, it was an exceptional dining experience, and I would rate it 10 out of 10.

The food was amazing! we had the quattro formaggi and diavola pizza, I also had an aperol spritz and everything was delicious! Also, when we arrived home we realized we left a bag with some things we bought from the Vatican and they were so helpful, it was lovely

This spot was not a place I planned on going to at first. I was looking for a restaurant to try after my visit to the Vatican and what a great choice I made coming here. The service was great and the food that me and my girlfriend had was outstanding. My girlfriend got the spaghetti Al pesto which was probably the best pesto pasta we have had in our time in Rome. As for the lasagna that I got, it was amazing and had a great flavor with the béchamel and tomato sauce oozing between each layer of the pasta sheets. They are not shy with the size and they give you a lot. The Cesar salad was good and I respected how they grated fresh Parmesan on it. The pizza also wasn’t the best I’ve had but still was made with fresh ingredients and had a great flavor and crust. It was also very light and I was able to eat the whole pie to myself after the lasagna. Everything was fresh and the prices were also great as well. I’m disappointed in myself for not visiting one more time before leaving Rome. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a nice restaurant to eat after your visit to the Vatican!

We stumbled upon this restaurant while waiting for our tour to the Vatican, with just an hour to spare—and my mom and I were hungry! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Geraldine, who instantly made us feel welcome. Her warmth, attention, and service were simply phenomenal—truly a star! She made the experience unforgettable. The food was pure Italian magic—authentic, flavorful, and comforting. We loved it so much that we came back for a second time, and Geraldine was there again, making us feel right at home. Eating here felt like being in a cozy Italian home, surrounded by love and delicious food. A huge thank you to Geraldine for making our meals so special! This place is absolutely worth visiting, and we are so grateful we found it before our tour. Highly, highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The biggest portion size we have received so far through out Italy. Meals range mostly from €10-25. The carbonara was amazing rich and creamy. The gnocchi was also great, and the pizza was okay. I prefer a thicker crust. Would go back again for sure

A wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, with authentic flavors and beautiful presentation. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for enjoying a nice meal. But the best part was the service — Ángel was amazing! He was incredibly kind and attentive, always making sure everything was perfect. It’s great to find places where everything is done with such care. I highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely come back!! Don’t forget to order your cappuccino with Ángel
